  10. six-year term. The president is head of both
  11. state and government and chooses the cabinet.
  12. Argentina is a federal union of 23 provinces,
  13. one national territory, and the Federal
  14. District. The two-chamber Congress consists
  15. of a 46-member senate chosen by provincial
  16. legislatures for a nine-year term, and a
  17. directly elected chamber of 254 deputies
  18. serving a four-year term. Each province has
  19. its own elected governor and legislature that
  20. deal with matters not assigned to the federal
  21. government.
